Thanks to the work of the Benedict Blythe Foundation, anaphylaxis awareness training is expected to become mandatory in schools from September through the introduction of Benedict’s Law. This practical two-day course is designed to give you the confidence and skills needed to respond to accidents, injuries and medical emergencies involving infants and children.

Ideal for those working in early years and childcare settings, the course meets current EYFS requirements and is suitable for nursery staff, childminders, teaching staff, parents, guardians and anyone responsible for caring for children.

You’ll cover key topics including:

• CPR for infants and children
• Responding to choking incidents
• Treating bleeding, burns and shock
• Managing fractures and injuries
• Responding to seizures and medical emergencies
• Anaphylaxis awareness and management
• Allergic reactions and use of auto-injectors
• Assessing and managing emergency situations
• Practical paediatric first aid scenarios and hands-on learning

The course combines practical, hands-on learning with straightforward theory to help learners feel confident responding when it matters most.

Assessment includes practical demonstrations and written assessments. Successful learners will achieve an accredited Paediatric First Aid qualification recognised by employers and compliant with EYFS requirements.
